DECT-Antenna-Obscurities 7590 AX[edit]
Obscurities found in the FRITZ!Box 7590 AX [v1] and FRITZ!Box 7590 AX v2 DECT antenna layouts.
The circuits of the first generation DECT models 7150 and w500v supported a single DECT antenna.
The circuits of all later DECT models support 2 antenna outputs.
The FRITZ!Box 7590 AX [v1] and FRITZ!Box 7590 AX v2 use thse same PCB with 3 DECT antennas:
- Antenna 1: Stamped-Metal DECT 1.9GHz - folded inverted F
- Antenna 2: Stamped-Metal DECT 1.9GHz - trapezoid shaped
- Antenna 3: PCB-Trace DECT 1.9GHz - folded inverted F
Obscurity[edit]
3 antennas for 2 DECT circuit outputs, that's obscure.
Normally it is no good idea to connect 2 different antennas to one output in parallel.
Selector[edit]
The solution is only 2 of the antennas are connected. Antenna 2 is always connected to the first output.
A little SMD part near the second output can be assembled in 2 directions as a selector between antenna 1 and antenna 3.
- If it is assembled in 2 o'clock direction it connects antenna 1, which is used in the probe.
- If it is assembled in 5 o'clock direction it connects antenna 3, which would be an option.
The 7590 [AC] uses the same 3 antennas, but no selector, see the DECT-Antenna-Obscurities 7590 article.
