The TFFS is a transaction-safe writable filesystem developed by AVM, mounted at /var/flash. Transaction-safe means no matter what happens, even if electricity breaks down during write, there is always a sane last copy of the file which was about to be modified. Most models use the TFFS to store all settings. TFFS files are charater devices and need special treatment. Some few models use real files in another filesystem to store the configuration. They are easily detectable by the additional path /var/flash/data. The directoty /var/flash/provider_default may contain factory-reset proof presets for a provider, but they don't survive a Recovery.exe.
