Details[edit]
The IPEX-Cable is an RF-Cable with IPEX-Plugs at both ends, to be plugged into IPEX-Connectors each.
For longer distances or to skip another RF chip AVM does not route the RF in copper to reach an onboard antenna.
In such cases both, the PCB antenna and the RF chip get IPEX-Connectors, and a cable is used to forward the RF
between them. IPEX-Cables are also used to connect PCIe mounted modems or WLAN cards with onboard
antennas or SMA-Connectors. Sometimes AVM uses thicker grey cables for 2.4GHz and thin black cables for 5GHz,
but often they don't make a difference.
