Info
Hotplug-Scripts are called whenever a device is attached to or removed from the USB-Host. They are typically located in /etc/hotplug and trigger events and start or stop related services depending on the type of connected device. The old hotplug system uses scripts only, for recent Firmware the Udev daemon udevd handles hotplug events. For example: The old system calls printer to start printserv when a printer is attached, the new system calls udev-printer-lp.
