Details

switch_console is the Bootcore / Interaptiv console switcher on Falcon and Seale SoCs.
While it is listed rw write access is denied on release firmware, including Labor and Inhaus.

sh: write error: Operation not permitted

Write access is only permitted on internal firmware, none of which ever leaked.
Internal means a CONFIG_BUILDTYPE of 2 (Intern) or 998 (Private), but not gathered from the config variable.
The permission is gathered from fw_info.ko, an early-boot capable module gathering its info from the device-tree.

switch_console is provided by grx_switch_console.ko.
