Description: | Move configuration and subscriptions of a Box to a new Box |
Goto: FRITZ!OS - Gallery - SMW-Browser
Details
Box-Move or Box-Change
is a new Wizard which helps to move the configuration of a configured Box to a new Box.
It is an advanced alternatuve to password protected Export on the source Box and an Import on the destination Box.
The Export / Import method works well, but all subscriptions which require a connect button get lost:
mesh clients
- subscriptions of mesh repeaters to the mesh masterwlan clients
- subscription of WLAN clients (known devices, MAC filter)wlan repeaters
- subscription of non Mesh WLAN repeatersdect handsest
- subscription of FRITZ!FON and 3rd party handsetsdect repeaters
- subscription of FRITZ!DECT 100 and 3rd party repeatersdect smarthome
- subscription of FRITZ!DECT and HANFUN smarthome devices
The complete network topology information, all device related settings and all device related parent config gets lost.
If you have a complex network it will take a long time to subscribe all your peripherals again,
and each device will have to be configured from scratch after. Close to impossible to repeat everything you did before.
FRITZ!OS
For the reasons above AVM introduced this new wizard in fw 7.39, realized in boxmovedev.lua.
The actor is moved, which is launched on the source box in source mode, and on the destination box in destination mode,
The source instance is extended by source plugins to import data and the destination by plugins to export it again.
Likely the amount of plugins will increase in future. So far it is unknown which of the problems named above get solved.
The Webinterface handles the move service in the move ui-module, which is maintained by libcmapi.so for ctlmgr.
