Details
An Phonebook aka Telephone-Directory
is a printed directory or a stored database of telephphone numbers.
The printed version covers all inhabitants of a specific city or area, the stored version is not limited at all.
Each entry typically consists of the name, possibly the address, and the phone number of the respective person.
Today all devices which support Telephony contain or have access to a stored Phonebook of all personal contacts.
Each entry can cover way more data than a printed version.
FRITZ!OS
FRITZ!OS supports multiple Phonebooks, each of which can be local or an Online-Phonebook.
Phonebooks are maintained by the pbd daemon, and stored in XML format in phonebook.
Each entry may consist of:
Name
Important person
- flagTelephone Numbers
- multiples (Private, Mobile, Business, Fax)Email Address
Quick-dial Number
- **7xxVanity code
- **8xxxxxxxxPhoto
- for FRITZ!Fon
Each Phonebook can have a Name and a list of DECT handsets which can use it.
A new Phonebook could be created empty or by cloning an existing one.
pbd serves the Phonebooks to the libphonebook.so client API, which is used by all Telephony related services.
Since there is no ui-module the Webinterface accesses the Phonebooks using libphonebooklua.so.
Phonebooks could be synchronized in a Mesh network.or from an Online-Phonebook
