HTTPS is the secure variant and successor of HTTP using Port-443-tcp. Today it's the most important protocol in the WWW.
FRITZ!OS
FRITZ!OS uses HTTPS for many services:
- Webinterface access from the LAN served by ctlmgr using Port-443-tcp
- Webinterface access from the Internet / myfritz.net served by ctlmgr using a configurable TCP port
- Webinterface access for a cable ISP proxied by pumaglued using Port-443-tcp of the modem IP
- Secure UPnP / TR-064 access from the LAN served by upnpd using Port-49443-tcp
- Secure Firmware download for TR-069 using httpsdl
- WebDAV, CardDAV and CalDAV are extensions of HTTP(S)
