Details
SNMP is a protocol for configuration and monitoring of managed devices in an IP network.
It uses Port-161-udp and Port-162-udp. SNMPv3 also permits secure SNMP over SSH or SSL / TLS, which use different ports.
SNMP uses MIBs to specify the SNMP capabilities of a device, typically provided by its Vendor.

FRITZ!OS
For the user AVM provided the UPnP and TR-064 protocols for the same purpose.
For DOCSIS models SNMP is mandatory but can only be accessed from the ISP side.
It is provided by the snmp_agent_cm daemon, which is present in all cable models.
AVM only provides the MIBs for DOCSIS models to ISPs.
