Details

oamd is an Ethernet-OAM protocol daemon. It is not an avm command but a Lantiq chipset command.

OAM (Operations, Administration, and Maintenance) is a protocol for managing and monitoring networks[1].
Ethernet-OAM injects OAM packets into the normal stream of data packets at layer 2[2].

oamd is used on these Lantiq DSL chipset driven models:

The inclusion of oamd in 6850lte fw 7.26 was a mistake.

oamd is included for Lantiq DSL frontends up to VRX500 family, regardless of which network SoC drives them.

fw 7.29 help:

fritz3:/var/media/ftp $ oamd -h

Usage: oamd [options]
-h, --help Print help (this message) and exit

Examples

oamd is started in dsl_notify.sh fw 7.39 like this:

modprobe ltq_eth_oam_handler ethwan=ptm0 # 7520 / 7530
modprobe eth_oam_handler ethwan=ptm0 # others

ifconfig eoam up
oamd -ieoam -D

First the Ethernet-OAM packet multiplexer module is loaded to start oamd at its separate interface,

Events

Daily updated index of AVM-Events and AVMIPC-Datastore nodes affecting this command. Last update: 2023-12-10 05:13 GMT.
The owners of Event-Sinks and Event-Sources are manual research, which may be incomplete or even wrong.
A * in the Mod column marks info from Supportdata-Probes, which will always stay incomplete.
A ** in the Mod column marks info from Supportdata2 probes, which by their nature will stay way more incomplete.
A - in the Mod column marks manual research, the Firmware then shows where the item occurs, not the Relation.

The (main/scrpn/boot/arm/prx/atom) label in the Model column shows which CPU is meant for models with multiple Linux instances.
Note that this list is merged from Firmware-Probes of all known AVM firmware for a model, including Recovery.exe and Labor-Files.
