Details

watch_supportdata_trigger is a renote job dispatcher daemon written in ash script, running on the Scorpion Linux of
the 3490, 5490, 5491 and 7490 models.

It infinitely waits until log_server creates /tmp/rcmd_vr9, dispatches the command it contains and deletes rcmd_vr9 after.
See the log_server and log_sink articles to understand how the VR9 and Scorpion are interonnected.

watch_supportdata_trigger accepts 3 commands in rcmd_vr9:

  • support
Creates Scorpion Linux supportdata with supportdata.basis, supportdata.tffs and supportdata.wlan plugins.
  • support_argo
Creates Scorpion Linux supportdata.argo with supportdata_argo.wlan plugin.
  • fw_dump
gzips then base64 encodes /var/tmp/fw-core-wifi1.BIN if it exists.
The substring 'fw-core' is only found in qca_ol.ko on Scorpion.

Each output is written to /tmp/supportdata_scrpn on Scorpion which is sent to /tmp/supportdata_wlan_offload on VR9.

See the log_sink article how supportdata.wlan and supportdata_argo.wlan trigger the above actions from VR9 Linux.
