Details
KOBJGRP_UEVENT_MC1 is the only NETLINK_KOBJECT_UEVENT multicasting group.
The name is an invention by BoxMatrix to give it an article.
It is hardcoded to 1 in lib/kobject_uevent.c (blame, raw):
retval = netlink_broadcast(uevent_sock, skb_get(skb), 0, 1, GFP_KERNEL);
It announces kernel uevents for the userspace /dev manager.
FRITZ!OS
In FRITZ!OS the userspace /dev manager daemon is udevd.
It replaces and enhances the former completely script driven hotplug interface.
