Details
IMF is an early ASCII based message format, but it explains the header and body of an Email and is the data sent by SMTP.
Since ASCII does not satisfy the needs of most Countries and Languages the later MIME extension permits other Charsets.
FRITZ!OS
Since FRITZ!OS started in German Language it reuired more than the ASCII Charset from the beginning.
Thus it uses MIME extended SMTP and does not rely on the IMF.
