Chip-Codename

Chip-Details

Magpie is the codename for the first WLAN Accelerator used in the 6340 and 6360 together wirh a Merlin.

Both Puma5 models just have a pretty slow 400 MHz CPU and the Magpie offloads WLAN from it.

The Magpie AR7020 used by AVM provides an Ethernet interface. It derives from the Magpie AR7010 with an USB 2.0 interface,
which is used in many WLAN sticks in conjunction with the Merlin
