Details

WAN-Speed is the term used here for the routing throughput of a box when using an external Modem. Some models have a separate WAN port for this, many switch LAN1 to WAN mode.

AVM measures this performance, but does not promote the results on their product or technical data pages.
However, they have knowlegde documents for a range of models[1].

This article collects the results from these articles, sorted by the main SoC of each model.

Hawkeye:

  • 4060   -   2.25 Gbit/s - 2.4 Gbit/s.
  • Also used in 5590

Seale GRX550:

  • 6890   -   900 Mbit/s - 940 Mbit/s
  • 7583vdsl   -   900 Mbit/s - 940 Mbit/s
  • 7583gfast   -   900 Mbit/s - 940 Mbit/s
  • 7590ac   -   900 Mbit/s - 940 Mbit/s
  • 7590ax   -   900 Mbit/s - 940 Mbit/s
  • Also used in 7580

Seale GRX350:

  • 7560   -   650/450 Mbit/s - 940/930 Mbit/s - naming 7490 probe which is a bug

Dakota:

  • 4040   -   900 Mbit/s - 940 Mbit/s
  • 7520   -   650/450 Mbit/s - 940/930 Mbit/s - naming 7490 probe which is a bug
  • 7530ac   -   900 Mbit/s - 940 Mbit/s
  • Also used in 6850lte, 68505g

BCM63:

  • 7530ax   -   900 Mbit/s - 940 Mbit/s
  • 7581   -   900 Mbit/s - 940 Mbit/s
  • Also used in 7582

VR9 VRX288:

VR9 VRXxxx:

  • 7430   -   90 Mbit/s - 93 Mbit/s.

Fusiv:

  • 7390   -   <200 Mbit/s.
  • Also used in 7340

AR9:

  • 3272   -   <200 Mbit/s.
  • 7272   -   <200 Mbit/s.

Dragonfly:

  • 4020   -   90 Mbit/s - 93 Mbit/s.

Notes:

  • [a] - These models use or used one VPE for VoIP which steals CPU performance. See vpefw.

FRITZ!OS

FRITZ!OS contains a Packet-Accelerator written by AVM to speed up routing by defeating the Kernel where it's applicable.
Depending on the SoC used this may include hardware acceleration.

This feature could be tweaked or disabled on the support.lua page, which maintains the avm_pa ui-module.
