Chip-Codename

Chip-Details

Miami is the codename for a range of IPQ53xx Network SoCs for WiFi 7 WLAN chipsets.

Qualcomm calls it the Immersive Home 3210 / 326 Wi-Fi 7 Platform.
There are several variants of the Miami, all have a Quad Core ARM Cortex A53 CPU[1]

  • IPQ5332 - IH 3210 - 1.5 GHz CPU + 1x 1.5 GHz NPU, 10 streams
  • IPQ5322 - IH 326 - 1.5 GHz CPU + 1x 1.5 GHz NPU, 6 streams
  • IPQ5312 - IH 326 - 1.1 GHz CPU + 1x 1.0 GHz NPU, 6 streams
  • IPQ5302 - IH 324 - 1.1 GHz CPU + 1x 1.0 GHz NPU, 4 streams
  • IPQ5300 - IH 324 - 1.1 GHz CPU + 1x 1.0 GHz NPU, 4 streams

AVM uses the cheapest IPQ5300 in the FRITZ!Box 7690, together with two Waikiki WLAN SoCs for 2x 4x4 MU-MIMO.

According to device-tree info found on the GPL-Browser the FRITZ!Repeater 2400 W7 is also based on a Miami.

The Miami appears to be a more recent but stripped down Hawkeye with these differences:

  • 1100-1500 MHz Quad Core ARM Cortex A53 instead of 2200 MHz
  • Only one 1000-1500 MHz NPU instead of two
  • Designed for Wi-Fi 7 instead of Wi-Fi 6

The SBL article shows that the Hawkeye and the Miami have a similar boot partition layout.
