Function: Starts / stops / restarts the SMB servers.

Details

samba_control starts / stops / restarts the SMB servers, if SMB is enabled.

It is called by the Hotplug-Scripts udev-mount-sd and storage, by webdav_control and by libcmapi.so for ctlmgr.

samba_control supports these arguments: 

start 
stop 
reconfig 
reconfig_pw

Since there are 2 different solutions for serving SMB these have to be explained separately:

This is the new solution supporting SMB v1/v2/v3 and a supervisor service smb2.service,

Simplified it is started: 

svctl start smb2
wsdd -w"$WORKGROUP"

Simplified it is stopped: 

wsdd -s
svctl stop smb2

The reconfig commands just perform the stop and start actions explained above.

Samba

This is the old solution only supporting SMB v1,

The relevant configuration is stored in usb.cfg: 

usbhost {
        ...
        samba_server_enabled = yes;
        samba_server_workgroup = "WORKGROUP";
        samba_server_server_string = "fritz0";
        ...
        nas_enabled = no;
        ...
}

nas_enabled overrides samba_server_enabled so the above does not start SMB.

The Webinterface handles these settings in the ctlusb ui-module:
