Chip-Codename

Chip-Details

Vinax is the codename for a VDSL2 solution by Infoneon which consists of 2 parts:

  • Vinax-CO - DSLAM side - 2 lines
  • Vinax-CPE - router side - 1 line

These chips were used 2006 for the first rollout of VDSL2 worldwide[1], performed by the german Telekom (branded T-Com).

T-Com first used the ADSL routers Speedport W 700V (Siemens/Arcadyan), Speedport W 701V and the Speedport W 900V,
together with the external Vinax-CPE based VDSL2 modem Speedport 300HS, and its successor Speedport 221.

Later they used the VDSL routers Speedport W 72xV from various manufacturers, including the Speedport W 721V from AVM,
For DECT support they used Speedport W 92xV from various manufacturers, including the Speedport W 920V from AVM,

AVM did not have a VDSL2 capable FRITZ!Box yet, so they cloned the w920v design to the FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7570 vDSL.
Later they made the custom Alice IAD 7570 vDSL variant from it, all 3 models with identical hardware.

The first VDSL2 model in FRITZ!Box design was the 7390, based on the Fusiv, but it did not support VDSL2 Profile 30a.
The Vinax-CPE did, that's why the 7570 was used for this profile until VR9 models came out.
