Details

fritznasdb_control starts / stops / reloads fritznasdb or adds / removes partitions from monitoring.

fritznasdb uses the Linux inotify API to get informed about changes on the monitored partitions.

fritznasdb_control is called by the Hotplug-Scripts udev-mount-sd and storage and by libcmapi.so for ctlmgr.
It informs fritznasdb about mounting and removal of partitions using msgsend.

This well commented script supports these arguments:

new_partition <part> # msgsend fritznasdb new_partition <part>
remove_all_usb_partitions # msgsend fritznasdb remove_all_usb_partitions
lost_partition <part> # msgsend fritznasdb lost_partition <part>
remove_all_partitions # msgsend fritznasdb remove_all_partitions

start # fritznasdb (if enabled in usb.cfg)
stop # fritznasdb -s
reconfig # msgsend fritznasdb reload_config

The maximum amount of inotify monitored objects is limited to 30.000 by this script.

See also the inotify(7) man page.
