Details
kpi sends an IPC message with an attached System KPI in JSON format to ctlmgr.
KPI (Key Performance Indicators) are a collection of sensor values like they are required for professional system monitoring.
Many services collect sensor data and generate KPI and starting with fw 7.39 FRITZ!OS implements metering in avmcounterd.
KPI are sent as IPC messages with attached JSON data to ctlmgr which serves the me_KPI.ctl IPC endpoint for this purpose.
Explained KPI providers: aha, kpid, psetd (kpi), voipkpid (libvoipkpi.so), latencyd.
This script generates the System KPI and sends it. Fortunately it has a test mode activated like this:
root@fritz:/var/mod/root# touch /var/tmp/kpi.test root@fritz:/var/mod/root# kpi
This disables sending the KPI but creates /var/tmp/kpi.test.result containig the JSON instead.
The following has been formatted for readability, the JSON is just a single line:
root@fritz:/var/mod/root# cat /var/tmp/kpi.test.result { "sv":"gen/v1", "kpi": { "socType": null, "mtdNames": [ "mtd0", "mtd1", "mtd2", "mtd3", "mtd4", "mtd5", "mtd6", "mtd7", "mtd8" ], "mtdBadblocks": [ 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 ], "tempNames": [ "Wifi-2.4GHz", "Wifi-5GHz" ], "tempValues": [ 58.0, 62.0 ], "memoryUsage": 30, "memoryFragmentation": 2, "starts": 15, "lifetime": "15 hours 11 days 0 months 0 years", "uptime": 87149, "swdt": 1 # new in fsgw fw 7.58 } }
This is from a 7530 which only has temp sensors if WLAN is enabled, and then per activated band.
Without having the test mode enabled the JSON would have been sent like this:
avmipc_send_kpi System 7 "$json"
Note that $json is the single line string above, and not a filename.
kpi is called by psetd, which is subscribed to the KPI_PRE_INFORM_NOTIFY
event in the AVMIPC-Datastore,
like many other related daemons and libraries, and sends the KPI to ctlmgr on request.
