Details

ftpd_control starts / stops / restarts ftpd, if it is enabled.

It is called by the Hotplug-Scripts udev-mount-sd and storage and by libcmapi.so for ctlmgr.

ftpd_control supports these arguments:

start
stop
reconfig

Depending on the presence of inetdctl ftpd is started by one of these 2 methods:

inetdctl enable ftpd
ftpd -D -q -t 120 -h $PRODUCT_NAME_WITHOUT_SPACES &   # derived from CONFIG_PRODUKT_NAME

For stopping one or both of these methods are used depending on the presence of inetdctl:

inetdctl disable ftpd
termforcedwait 3 ftpd        # termforcedwait from term.sh

On the ARM side of the Puma6 models 6430, 6460, 6490, 6590, and the vapor 6490 predecessor HWR 204 additionally:

rpc killall ftpd

The reconfig command just stops and starts ftpd as explained above.

The relevant configuration is stored in usb.cfg:

usbhost {
        ...
        ftp_server_enabled = yes;
        ...
        nas_enabled = no;
        ...
}

nas_enabled overrides ftp_server_enabled so the above does not start ftpd.

The Webinterface handles these settings in the ctlusb ui-module:

ctlusb:settings/ftp-server-enabled
ctlusb:settings/nas-enabled
