Description: | 1200MHz Dual Core ATOM 652 + 450MHz ARM6 DOCSIS 3.0 SoC |
Chip-Details
The Puma6 is the successor of the Puma5, the first DOCSIS SoC by Intel after they bought the Cable Modem Unit of Texas Instruments.
Besides a slightly faster ARM6 core Intel added a Dual Core ATOM, so it runs 2 Linux instances.
This was necessary since the TI DOCSIS stack was written for the ARM6.
The Puma6 is the base of the FRITZ!Box 64xx / 6590 Cable
routers. The successor SoC is the Puma7.
