Overview[edit]

The FRITZ!WLAN Repeater N/G is the first repeater by AVM, designed in 72xx times. It doesn't have any buttons but a touch sensitive LED matrix display. There are only 3 sensitive touch areas on the display. Besides repeating WLAN the N/G can act as a remote windows audio card, using the AURA service. It offers TOSLINK and 3.5 mm TRS line outputs, and a short distance FM transmitter, so you could use a ghettoblaster with FM receiver to grab the audio within 10m from the repeater wireless. Besides being a virtual sound card the N/G also acts as an audio renderer, so any UPnP AV capable player in the same network can direct audio streams to it. Although this was a fancy idea for a product AVM never did innovative audio solutions like this again.
